Pool Table Recovering
New cloth on the bed and rails, and the slate seen properly.
Cloth gives out at the break spot, along the top rail under resting hands, and around the pocket mouths. Once one opens the rest is usually thin enough that doing the whole table beats doing it twice.
It is the only visit where the slate is bare, which makes it the moment to inspect seams, bolts and rubber rather than assume them, and to correct the level with nothing in the way.
Choosing the cloth
Choose the cloth, and decide about the rails while they are off.
- Woollen carries a nap and runs slower, forgiving in a room where the standard varies.
- Worsted is smooth and fast, the league and hall surface. Balls carry further than most expect.
- Colour is open. Dark hides chalk, light shows wear earlier.
- Rubber can go on at the same visit, and should if the cushions are returning dead.
A top-floor room under a roof runs hot through the summer, which cloth tolerates and cushion rubber does not, so doing both at once usually makes sense. Send the size and whether you want pace or control.
What finished looks like
We here at Nashville Pool Table Movers guarantee all of our work. If you use our services and feel that we did something incorrectly, or that your table is becoming unlevel, we will come back out to fix the issue. This is good for six months after your service is completed. We are a Diamond pool table specialist.
Our normal appointment times are at 8 or 9 am and 1 or 2 pm. There is an additional $30 fee for any job that starts after 5 pm, on a Saturday, or on a Sunday. There is an additional cost of $30 if we need to carry the table up stairs on an installation. On a home to home move we do not charge extra for stairs on a three piece slate table, and we will not move one piece slate tables up or down stairs.
